President's Message
February
It's time for that old idiom, time flies when you're having fun ! So welcome 2023 !
Thank you Sandy Boyd-Pierce for your outstanding service as our past President. Good luck with your service, adventures and travels carrying on your mom's heritage. And if you all want to know what that means, come to a meeting and ask Sandy !!
Our Christmas dinner was a success and enjoyed by many members. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated to the Toy Project and the raffle. And a big thanks to Thai-Mex for a delicious meal.
January's speaker was Vicki Standfill who is the founder and Executive Director of Frontline First. With her law enforcement and pastoral background, she is helping first responders and their families recover from emotional trauma. It was very informative and worthwhile.
February's speaker was Christie Fleeman SROII who is the RAN Manager, oversees Livescan for the entire county and is a biometric master! If you want to learn how Sacramento has led the state and the nation in Iris Scanning, Rapid DNA, GRABEM devices and more, she is the person to see. I strongly suggest that all LE groups invite her to speak...great information, interesting, and inspirational!
Next month our guest speaker is Gordon Smith, representing Code 9 T.U.F. Program. It is a Universal Peer Support Program for all first responder groups, active or retired. Please attend and bring any guest who might benefit from his presentation.
Heads up, RANGE DAY is Wednesday, APRIL 26, 2023 at 0800 hours.
As your new President, I hope to see you at our next meeting on Wednesday March 8th. Please bring a friend, relative, or co-worker and enjoy new/old friends, good food and fun.
Take care,
JoAnn Lee
President
